Office of Advancement
The Office of University Advancement houses a number of small departments that work collaboratively to ensure a strong connection between the University, community, faculty, students, and Alumni.
Communications
A major component of Advancement is communications.
The communications department is responsible for telling the University's story. We accomplish this through engagement with media partners, producing monthly and quarterly newsletters, connecting with the community through social media, and helping promote programs and events offered through each of the Colleges.
Our goal is to highlight Touro's mission through examples from our students, faculty and Alumni. We help keep Touro connected to the surrounding region, Mare Island's history, and the endless compassion of the Touro campus family.
Alumni Relations
Our students are important to us, even after they graduate.
Our Alumni Relations department works to ensure our graduates stay connected and involved with Touro throughout their lifetimes. We produce a quarterly newsletter to share the successes of our Alumni in their professional endeavors, and we coordinate with the communications department to help produce The Current, our Alumni podcast, which highlights the amazing contributions our Alumni make to our world on a daily basis.
Alumni Relations also works to establish and maintain our Alumni Association, our Alumni Ambassador program, and mentorships between graduates and current students, as well as promoting ways for Alumni to donate financially to Touro.
Fund Development
Representation for students from diverse backgrounds is our way of ensuring everyone gets invited to the party.
Our Fund Development team works tirelessly to find sources of philanthropic giving that matches Touro's mission. These generous donations from our many partners help ease the financial burden of higher education through a variety of scholarship funds, most notably our Diversity Scholarship.
Diversity Scholarships are awarded to numerous students each year as a means to open avenues of success for students where they might not have existed before.
