Tutoring

No matter where you are in your academic journey—new to Touro or continuing your studies—our tutoring services are here to support your success. Tutoring is available to any student eager to strengthen their understanding, boost confidence, and improve academic performance.

We offer flexible support options, including personalized one-on-one tutoring and convenient drop-in sessions held in the study halls, so you can get help when you need it most.

Ready to Get Started with Tutoring?

Students interested in receiving peer tutoring can submit a Tutor Request Form through the intranet. Most students are matched with a tutor within one week, making it easy to get support quickly and stay on track.

Interested in Becoming a Peer Tutor?

If you enjoy helping others succeed and want to build valuable leadership and teaching skills, consider becoming a peer tutor. Peer tutoring positions require an excellent academic record, accompanied by a recommendation and/or endorsement from the appropriate representative of your college. These are federal work-study jobs and are available to students in good academic standing who are eligible for financial aid. Scroll down to contact us for more information.

Disability Services

It is the policy of Touro University California to ensure that no qualified student with a disability is excluded from participation in or, subjected to discrimination in any University facility, program, activity, or event.

The University is committed to granting reasonable accommodations to students with documented disabilities. Policies and procedures must ensure that students with a disability will not, on the basis of that disability, be denied full and equal access to academic and co-curricular programs or activities or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under programs offered by the University.

Reasonable Accommodation

The rights of students with disabilities are protected under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).

An application for accommodation of a disability (available in the Touro One portal) must be made by the student. Verbal disclosure prior to or following admission is not sufficient. Students may apply for special accommodations anytime during their academic curriculum, however, if granted, the accommodation is given only for the academic year in which it is requested.

Although students can apply for accommodations at any time during their academic program, it is strongly advised that if you are seeking accommodations, you submit your application and all required documentation well in advance.

Please reach out to our dedicated Accommodations team for more information at tuc.accommodations@touro.edu.

Accommodations

The following is a list of accommodations that may be provided, given the student has provided the appropriate documentation:

  • extra time on timed examinations and/or quizzes
  • extra time on in-class assignments
  • provisions to take examinations and/or quizzes in a quiet, separate room
  • tape recording of lectures
  • note taker services
  • front-row access in classes with assigned seating
  • other accommodations will be considered as presented.

Students who are in need of diagnostic testing or the need to provide current documentation should meet with the Learning Specialist. Information on testing can be obtained through this office. The cost of testing and assessments is the student's responsibility.

Details for the policies and procedures for determination of the accommodations, necessary documentation, appeals, and regarding the privacy of records are available in the Student Handbook, available online through the University website, and available in hard copy in major offices as well as the library.

Study Spaces

Having a quiet, comfortable space to study and work is something we recognize as being valuable for all students. As such, OASIS provides a space on the first floor, south end of Truett Hall. It's open all day every weekday and weekends.
