A new book titled “Everyday Diabetes in Primary Care: A Case-Based Approach” authored by Dr. Jay H. Shubrook, a nationally leading diabetologist and professor at Touro University California's College of Osteopathic Medicine, has been unveiled, offering "real-world guidance" for day-to-day diabetes management in primary care settings.

New School Year Welcomes Students and New Leadership
The thrill of a new school year comes with added excitement for two leaders that have stepped into new interim positions at Touro University California (TUC): Dr. Tami Hendriksz is now the Interim Chief Academic Officer in addition to being Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM), and Newman Hoffman is Interim CEO and Vice President. Together, they bring experience, dedication, and vision to their respective roles.

Michael Ellerby, Ph.D. wins Outstanding Teaching Award
For Dr. Michael Ellerby, professor at the College of Pharmacy, the secret to winning the 2023 Touro University California (TUC) Outstanding Teaching Award is his love of learning, teaching, and his students. The nomination was strongly supported by Dean Jim Scott Ph.D. and was presented with commemorative plaque at TUC’s Employee Appreciation event.

Free Health Screenings for over 400 Children in Rural Areas Provided by Touro Nursing Students
In June, Touro University California (TUC) partnered with the University of San Francisco (USF) and the Kings Canyon Unified School District in Reedley, California, to offer a unique community immersion program for nursing students. Ten TUC Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students, alongside their USF counterparts, had the opportunity to serve the rural community while gaining practical experience.
