A globetrotting Touro University California alum with more than a decade in the U.S. Navy continues his transition from military medicine to civilian service by joining a physicians’ group with ties to a big-city hospital in the Midwest.

The Touro University California community came together Aug. 22 with the larger community at the Mosaic Gala to celebrate the diversity of TUC’s student body and to raise money to help those students complete their graduate and doctoral degrees.

Alumni, faculty members, and students of Touro University California’s College of Osteopathic Medicine played key roles in late September during the American Osteopathic Association’s largest medical education conference of the year.

On Sunday, September 15, 2024, Touro University California (TUC) College of Pharmacy celebrated a significant milestone for the Class of 2027 with their White Coat Ceremony. Thirty-six students, embarking on the rigorous three-year PharmD program, were honored as they donned their white coats, symbolizing the start of their professional journey into the field of pharmacy. Family, friends, faculty, and mentors gathered to witness this important moment in their academic and professional careers.

The 2024 diversity scholarship campaign ended on high note Aug. 22 as some 200 students, faculty, alumni, staff, and community supporters came together for the annual Mosaic Gala under the big top in The Grove.

Throughout Kaiser Permanente’s 77 years, their mission, values, and people have defined what they do, how they do it, and who they are as an organization. This identity is based on respecting and representing the diverse communities they serve, and a shared responsibility to move beyond simply valuing diversity and inclusion to actively building a more equitable future. 

Members of an expanded College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2028 crossed the stage Sept. 8 in a packed Lander Hall Auditorium to receive their white coats and enter the ranks of student physicians.
