Celebrating the TUC Class of 2025 Graduates
Inspiring Speeches and Joyful Celebrations at TUC's Commencement

Touro University California (TUC) proudly celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2025 during its commencement ceremonies held on May 19th and 20th at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. A total of 390 graduate degrees were conferred to 361 students.
This commencement marks the rise in the total number of TUC Alumni to over 7,500 exceptional physicians, pharmacists, educators, physician assistants, nurses, public health practitioners, and health science professionals. The ceremonies began with a warm welcome and introduction by Patti Salkin, JD, Senior VP of Academic Affairs, Provost, Graduate and Professional Divisions at Touro University. Her remarks set a celebratory and reflective tone for the occasion, recognizing the dedication and perseverance of the graduating class.
The commencement speaker for the College of Pharmacy, Senator Christopher Cabaldon, inspired the audience with a powerful message about leadership, civic engagement, and the role of healthcare professionals in shaping a better future. Connecting with students about Mare Island and the many popular spots in Vallejo, his words encouraged graduates to embrace their roles as changemakers in their communities.
The keynote address for the College of Osteopathic Medicine was delivered by Teresa A. Hubka, DO, FACOOG (Dist.), FACOG, CS, President of the American Osteopathic Association. Dr. Hubka emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and service to the community, a message that resonated deeply with graduates and their families.
Dr. Tami Hendriksz, DO, FACOP, FAAO, Campus Provost and CAO, also addressed the graduates, highlighting the university's commitment to excellence and service. "Through your pursuit of knowledge, you have not only expanded your expertise but also embraced the values that define Touro University California—commitment to service, integrity, and lifelong learning," said Dr. Hendriksz.
A special highlight of the College of Education and Health Sciences ceremony was the awarding of an honorary Master of Public Health (MPH) degree to Obie Anthony, a tireless advocate for criminal justice reform and founder of the nonprofit organization Exonerated Nation. After spending 17 years wrongfully incarcerated, Anthony has dedicated his life to supporting exonerees and advancing policies that prevent wrongful convictions. His courage, resilience, and advocacy work exemplify the values of justice and service that Touro University California seeks to instill in its graduates
The graduates were celebrated for their academic achievements and commitment to excellence. Ceremonies were attended by family, friends, and faculty, who cheered on the graduates as they received their diplomas. The Sacramento Memorial Auditorium provided a beautiful backdrop for the celebrations. With its historic architecture and welcoming atmosphere, staff ensured a smooth and secure experience for all attendees.
