College of Pharmacy Alumna Profile: Dr. Leslie Wu
Class of 2021 Member Joins Kaiser Permanente, Enjoys Varied Activities
Dr. Leslie Wu, PharmD, is a graduate of Touro University California's College of Pharmacy Class of 2021.
After graduating, Dr. Wu went on to complete her general residency at Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center, where she developed an interest in psychiatry and general medicine. Her residency project was based on social determinants of health, more particularly on the feasibility of utilizing pharmacists to identify social health needs in medication non-adherent populations.
She participated in a research project as one of the pharmacists making social health screening phone calls and assisted in conducting pharmacist interviews detailing the process.
Kaiser Permanente Pharmacist
Wu is currently an ambulatory care pharmacist at Kaiser Permanente Redwood City Medical Center. She rotates between several clinics, assisting physicians in managing chronic disease states in adult family medicine, adjusting medications during patient visits in psychiatry, as well as piloting a pharmacist managed clinic for gender-affirming care.
Outside Interests
In her spare time, Wu is making her way back into the gym, taking part in dispersed backpacking, hiking, and traveling, and going to shows such as concerts, operas, and musicals.
An exciting vacation for her was one to Boulder Creek, Colorado, where she spent a few days skiing several black diamond slopes in "bluebird" perfect weather. Her most recent trip was to the East Coast, where she spent some time in the suburbs of Philadelphia with some college friends and also in Washington, D.C.
She is looking forward in the next few months to attending "Il Trovatore" at the San Francisco Opera House and going to Denver, Colorado, for some time outdoors with friends.
