Take Part in World Diabetes Day on November 14 and Get Tested!
For type 2 diabetes there are no “classic” early symptoms. This is why evidence-based screening with blood tests is so important.
Early detection can make all the difference, as diabetes often shows no symptoms in its early stages. By knowing your risk and getting tested, you can take control of your health, make informed decisions, and work towards a better, diabetes-free future.
Dr. Jay Shubrook’s Diabetes Facts:
- There are more than 20 types of diabetes mellitus.
- Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease—not a metabolic or weight-related disease.
- Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. It is a metabolic condition, but a person's biggest risk factor is genetics and family history.
- Type 2 diabetes is a progressive condition—the sooner you diagnose it and treat it, the better the disease response and course.
- Type 2 diabetes can be delayed or prevented in more than 50% of people with programs such as the diabetes prevention program.
- For type 2 diabetes there are no “classic” early symptoms. This is why evidence-based screening with blood tests is so important.
- Get tested today, November 14, 2023 3:00pm – 5:00pm PT
