Biography

Following graduating from medical school in 1999, I pursued residency training in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. Thereafter, I was a "country doc" practicing the full scope of family medicine, including emergency department and obstetrics.

In 2011, I turned my attention to academia and took a position at the Eastern Maine Medical Center's Family Medicine Center and Residency Program. I taught and oversaw the work of medical students, interns, family medicine residents, and OMM Plus One residents. I presented in both family medicine and OMM didactics. Others had earlier noted my penchant for teaching, and at Eastern Maine, I truly felt my passion for it.

In 2017, I returned to my hometown in Kansas, where I was the Chief Medical Officer and provider at an Indian Health Service / Federally Qualified Healthcare Center. I later started my own OMM specialty practice.

Then in 2022, I joined family in California, where I began teaching in Touro's OMM department and started my private OMM practice in Vallejo. In 2024, I added a Santa Cruz location.

When I'm not D.O.-ing, I love being out door, whether in the forest, on the beach, or in the vineyards and plains. Camping always calls my name as does gardening. I'm also highly active, running, tumbling, jumping, etc. Spending time with my family is of primary importance, and we enjoy these things together.

• Providing hands-on table training in the OMM Lab
• Precepting in the OMM Teaching Learning Center where students and OMM fellows treat volunteer "patients"
• Precepting in the Student Run Free Clinic where students treat individuals in the community
