Transfer Students

The Touro University California College of Pharmacy will consider transfer applications from those who satisfy the eligibility requirements and follow the process outlined below.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for transfer consideration, applicants must:

  1. Be currently enrolled in a PharmD program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
  2. Have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or 72 semester units of undergraduate coursework.
  3. Have earned undergraduate cumulative and science GPAs of 2.75 or better.
  4. Have earned a 2.75 or better cumulative GPA within the current PharmD program.
  5. At the time of application, have completed at least 1.5 years of a 3-year PharmD program or 2.5 years of a 4-year PharmD program.
  6. At the time of transfer, have completed all didactic coursework at the current PharmD program and must be eligible to begin clinical instruction.

Application Process

Before applying, prospective transfer applicants must email the Senior Director of Admissions (sdavis2@touro.edu) to obtain permission to apply as a transfer student. This email must include the reason(s) for the transfer and unofficial transcripts from the current PharmD program.

If approved, transfer applicants will be provided with a link to the transfer application, which will be submitted through the Touro University application system, and will include the following:

  1. One general letter of recommendation from any source, excluding family members.
  2. One letter of recommendation from the Dean or the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs from your current PharmD program indicating that you are a current student in good standing both professionally and academically.
  3. Resume or CV.
  4. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
  5. Official transcripts from your current PharmD program.

Transfer Application Review, Interview, & Final Decisions

Transfer applications will be reviewed and if approved, eligible applicants will be invited to attend a virtual interview with representatives of the Admissions Committee and the Clinical Education Department. Final decisions will be issued via email from the Office of Admissions within two weeks of the date of the virtual interview.
