Biography
I joined the TUC faculty in the College of Pharmacy from University of California, Berkeley in 2012. I brought with me a fervor for learning and teamwork formed through years of team-based research experiences in infectious disease, immunology and ocular microbiology. Today, I take pleasure in teaching and mentoring pharmacy students in these same subjects and learning for myself what contributes to students’ academic success. My PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology came from University of Maryland, Baltimore where I studied structural/functional relationships of multiprotein complexes isolated from bacteria and later expanded into host/pathogen relationships during my time in the Dept of Immunology and Microbiology at University of Maryland, Dept of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and School of Optometry at UC Berkeley. As a non-native, I enjoy exploring California’s beautiful terrain in my spare time - admiring its unique flora, fauna and geological history.
