Biography

Bushra Hendi, MBChB, RDCS, RDMS, RVT is an accomplished sonography educator and healthcare professional with more than two decades of experience spanning clinical practice, medical education, and healthcare leadership. She currently serves as the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Clinical Education Coordinator at Touro University California, where she oversees clinical training, student placement, affiliate partnerships, and the development of clinical education standards for sonography students.

Bushra holds multiple professional credentials, including Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT). She earned associate degrees in both Cardiac Sonography and Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Lackawanna College, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA and receiving numerous academic honors, including the Sonography Excellence Award, Dean’s and president’s List recognition, and the UPS Achievement Scholarship.
She also holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from Al-Mustansiriyah University College of Medicine in Baghdad, Iraq.

Throughout her career, Bushra has combined clinical excellence with a passion for education. She has served as a faculty member, adjunct instructor, tutor, and clinical coordinator for several sonography programs, teaching courses in echocardiography, general ultrasound, and vascular technology. Her educational roles have included positions with Touro University California, Gurnick Academy, American Medical Sciences College, and Lackawanna College, where she mentored and trained future sonographers through classroom instruction, laboratory education, and clinical supervision.
In addition to her educational leadership, Bushra has extensive hands-on clinical experience in echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and diagnostic medical sonography. Her clinical background includes positions with Wayne Memorial Hospital, Tyler Memorial Hospital, and Great Valley Cardiology, where she performed advanced diagnostic imaging studies and collaborated closely with physicians to support patient care and accurate diagnoses.

A dedicated advocate for service and community engagement, Bushra has volunteered in heart screening programs with Kyle J. Taylor Foundation, refugee support initiatives, youth development programs, and outreach efforts serving individuals experiencing homelessness. Fluent in both Arabic and English, she is known for her cultural sensitivity, compassionate patient care, strong leadership skills, and commitment to advancing excellence in sonography education and healthcare delivery.

Today, Bushra continues to inspire future healthcare professionals through her dedication to clinical education, lifelong learning, Mentoring, and improving patient outcomes through high-quality diagnostic imaging sonography education.
